Vincent B. Delumpa M.D., FACS Northern Surgical Consultants

I know that it is a major decision to have surgery. I want to make your experience as pleasant as possible.

Pre-operatively you have been referred to me for a variety of reasons. Many of these will require surgery but some may not. That is why we routinely ask some questions when you or your doctor calls the referral. We then schedule an appointment in one of our offices. At that time, we will meet you and go over much of your medical history. To treat you appropriately, I will go over your earlier tests, medical history, and your present problem/concern. Much time and thought will be given to you and to any questions you might have. Feel free to have an open discussion.

After the consultation, we will most likely begin to schedule your surgery. We will make arrangements with the surgery personnel for the date and time. All information will be given to them and they will contact you prior, usually within a day or two before your surgery. There are times when further testing or another consult with a different doctor or area of expertise is needed. At that time, we will make sure you are properly scheduled and obtain the treatment you need.

If surgery is not needed, we will either make follow up appointments with us, release you, or refer you to the proper place. Above all, my goal is to keep you fully informed every step of the way--starting with the first visit.
